Summer Training Information Letter

I have put an information letter together with some details on certain training I was able to gather. Only the training in the Eastern part of the country are listed here. If you want more information about training in other areas of the country you will need to search the COMPASS web site. This letter is created in an attempt to give cadets and parents an idea of what they can expect from the training.

Summer
Training 2008

The NSCC Summer Training Schedule for 2008 is posted on the Compass Web site. It lists all nationally-arranged trainings (Recruit Training and Advanced Training) that cadets and escort officers can participate in.

There are two equal parts to this Schedule:

  1. The INFORMATION LETTER. The NSCC-IL contains guidelines and mandatory information for all applicants. READ THIS LETTER BEFORE APPLYING TO ANY TRAINING!
  2. The TRAINING SCHEDULE. It is posted as a PDF document. Please check back here for the latest updates. The COMPASS Administrator will post changes as they are referred from NHQ.

Sea Cadet ranks follow the same path as of the United States Navy and United States Coast Guard, from E-1 (Seaman Recruit) through E-7 (Chief Petty Officer). All cadets have to the take the Navy correspondence courses and pass Navy examinations to gain rank. They must have a minimum time served in each rank before moving to the next higher rank.
