The
training officer is responsible to the executive officer for instruction
and training of cadets. Specific responsibilities include:
Ensuring
that all training and instruction is conducted in accordance
with the provisions of the NSCC/NLCC Training and Advancement
Manual.
Conducting training seminars for adult leaders, and for ensuring
that high standards of training and instruction are maintained.
Maintaining records of individual cadet training and advancement
status.
Maintaining liaison with the supporting naval activity to ensure
availability of training aids/educational materials, and for
timely administration of advancement in rate examinations.
Preparing cadets for participation in the summer training program.
Administering the officer/cadet correspondence course program,
and for maintaining records of course completion.

- if you plan going to NCSS recruit training, you MUST pass the
physical fitness test conducted at the home Division
I have put an information letter together with some details on certain training I was able to gather. Only the training in the Eastern part of the country are listed here. If you want more information about training in other areas of the country you will need to search the COMPASS web site. This letter is created in an attempt to give cadets and parents an idea of what they can expect from the training.
Summer
Training 2008
The NSCC Summer Training Schedule for 2008 is posted on the Compass Web site. It lists all nationally-arranged trainings (Recruit Training and Advanced Training) that cadets and escort officers can participate in.
There are two equal parts to this Schedule:

Ranks
& Advancement
Sea Cadet ranks follow the same path as of the United States Navy
and United States Coast Guard, from E-1 (Seaman Recruit) through E-7
(Chief Petty Officer). All cadets have to the take the Navy correspondence
courses and pass Navy examinations to gain rank. They must have a
minimum time served in each rank before moving to the next higher
rank. All new Sea Cadet enter the NSCC as an E-1; detailed requirements
for advancement are outlined below.
