The Web was developed by one of our Officers at no cost, an effort that has taken a considerable amount of time and resources. We thought you might like to know the quick of it—so here it is:
The main page is the gateway to a number of pages, most of which are directed at public relations/public awareness. The main pages of interest to the Cadets are the Cadet Resources page and the Information page.
The Resource page provides ready access to subjects that Cadets need to know. These pages are (for the most part) Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard pages that exist elsewhere on the Web. We save the Cadets the time of searching them out.
The Information page is where the Cadets will find access to the Calendar of Events, they can provide us with timely changes to information and we can provide them with up-to-date information that affects the Division. It is from this page that they can access the gateway to our password-protected member’s only page. This page is for exchange of information that is internal to the Division. This is the only place where personal information such as addresses or phone numbers can be found for the Division; this is done for the protection of the Cadets. We also incorporated a Forum page within the protected area for the Cadets to communicate with their shipmates and discuss matters concerning the Unit.
It is from the Information page that you—the parents can go to see what’s happening with the Division. The “Information for Parents” page was constructed and launched specifically for you. We will post events that are of significance such as mandatory training like the CPR class in January 2004. We will post notices on upcoming events such as some away trips we are planning to places like West Point, Annapolis and Lakehurst NAS. We think it’s important for you to know where your teen(s) will be going and doing. We will solicit your input on issues from time to time. You can always contact any of the Staff Officers via email by going to the “Contacts” page where our names, positions and email addresses are accessible; simply click on the email address link following the name(s). Your suggestions and recommendations are always welcome.
