Naval Sea Cadets builds character for this Liberty Cadet

 


Ponte at Wounded Warrior eventFarmingdale, NY - September 1  The US Naval Sea Cadets strives to buildcharacter, leadership abilities and a sense of teamwork and self-reliance among other traits that serve both the Cadet and the Country into the future. 

Liberty (AGTR5) Division of the US Naval Sea Cadets (NSCC) has a shining example of the results of both good parenting and the NSCC can accomplish.  Petty Officer 3rd Class Vincent A. Ponte, a senior at the prestigious Valley Forge Military Academy is just one of many young man or woman who hassucceeded due to their participation in the NSCC.

Ponte (2nd from left, carrying the US Ensign) in Liberty (AGTR5) Division Color Guard.PO3 Ponte is the Commander for the Liberty (AGTR5) Division Color Guard and attended this summer and passed the Petty Officer Leadership program at MASS Maritime Academy as well as seamanship training at Norfolk Naval Base, located in Norfolk, VA.  These training programs are a partnership between the NSCC and the US Navy.  The courses that the Cadets take are the same courses and same requirements as the active duty Sailors and Marines, taken side by side.

PO3 Ponte hopes to enter to have a career as an officer in the US Navy.
